Central Barks connects pet owners with dog walkers. Our messaging features exist to help you communicate professionally about bookings and dog care. We ask all users to follow these guidelines.

Be professional and respectful

All communication on Central Barks should be professional, courteous and relevant to dog walking. Treat other users as you would in a professional setting.

What we don't allow

  • Harassment, bullying or intimidatory behaviour
  • Offensive, abusive or discriminatory language
  • Threatening or aggressive messages
  • Spam, advertising or unsolicited promotions
  • Sharing personal contact details to circumvent the platform
  • Any content that is illegal under UK law
  • Inappropriate, explicit or offensive images
  • Images of people taken or shared without their consent

Sharing images

You can share images in conversations to help communicate about walks and pet care — for example, photos of a dog during a walk or a location update. Please keep shared images relevant and appropriate.

  • Only share images you have the right to share
  • Do not share images that reveal private home addresses or sensitive locations
  • Do not share images of people without their consent
  • Images are automatically and permanently deleted after 14 days

Reporting concerns

If you receive a message that makes you uncomfortable or violates these guidelines, please use the Report button on the message. We review all reports within 24 hours.

What happens when you report

Our team reviews every report manually. Depending on the severity we may issue a warning, temporarily suspend the account or permanently remove the user from Central Barks.

What happens if you violate these guidelines

  • First violation: written warning via email
  • Second violation: temporary account suspension
  • Serious violations: immediate permanent account removal
